Definitely a useful technique!
You’re looking for keyword phrases in your niche markets that will deliver 80 - 100 visitors a day, as estimated using Google Trends
No Comments »The goal is to find an ‘Umbrella Phrase’ for your niche market. An umbrella phrase has 100+ daily searches in WordTracker, and less than 30,000 phrase-matched competing pages (phrase match means you search on google with quote marks around the phrase in the search box (”sausage making” NOT sausage making) [note: use the new Wordtracker Gtrends tool]
Note the Umbrella Phrases for your niche markets. If a niche market does not have a good umbrella phrase, put it on the ‘back bench’.

First of all, a video on using YouTube.
Then a video on checking out you niche in Google. Notice if there are many affiliate programs in the organic results on the left. Look at the Adwords (top & right) to see who is advertising, and how many of them are affiliates.
Note down the affiliate programs you’ve discovered for you niche market
Then check out your niche market on Google Trends . Note the volume of traffic, and whether its seasonal
