Sorting Stumble Friends and Fans

I enjoy Stumbleupon, but I also use it to build traffic to some of my site

Yes, I do Stumble my own sites, but only if they’re related to the theme of my Stumble blog pages, and I don’t Stumble any site more than once a month. A typical stumble in niches related to my blog will bring 200 - 400 visits, and far more if some of those visitors review the page as well.

How to build pagerank for your Stumbleupon pages

My Stumbleupon blog (Stoush) now has a pagerank of 4. OK, maybe that’s not mindblowing, until you realize that I only started it in March, and that even my oldest sites only have a page rank of 3.

So how does your Stumbleupon blog get its pagerank? From your friends and fans.

Just read an interesting article about the 23 types of social media users.

Super User
Active User
Helpful Stranger
Average Joe

…and some of those you’d probably want to avoid:
Greedy Webmaster
Spammer

Gamer
Fake Hot Girl
Clueless Webmaster

Exploring Stumbleupon

Of all of the Web 2.0 sites I’ve come across, so far I like Stumbleupon the best.

Why? Because it gives me the best surfing.

At Stumbleupon, I can indicate my interests, click on a button and see a random site that has been given a thumbs-up by people with the same interest. It shows lots of great sites that I’d probably never come across in the search engines.
